Scottish 6 Days - Lochaber

The 23rd Scottish 6 Days Orienteering event will be held in Lochaber between the 1st and 7th August 2021. Lochaber is a scenic area in the Scottish Highlands. It includes Fort William (An Gearasdan), the outdoor capital of Scotland, and Ben Nevis, Scotland's highest mountain.

Classes
A full range of age classes is available, from M/W10 to M/W85.
White, Yellow, Orange, Light Green and Green courses are available for less experienced or casual orienteers.
Entry Fees
The fees shown below are per day.
After the close of Entries at the end of June and the publication of start times in mid July, we propose to re-open on-line for late entries and Entries at the Event (subject to map availability). At the event itself, it is unlikely that it will be possible to enter in person. However, we hope to be able to take entries on-line until 18.00 the evening before each individual day's event.

Punching System
SPORTident electronic punching will be used for the 6-Days with mixed SI punching. Competitors with a traditional SI card will dib in the ordinary way, but those orienteers that own or hire a SIAC will be able to use it contactlessly.
SI Card Hire
There will be a charge of £1 per day to hire an SI card. The charge for a lost SI card is £30.
There will be a charge of £2.50 per day entered to hire an SIAC card. SIAC cards cannot be hired for an individual day. They must be hired for all the days that a competitor enters. The charge for a lost SIAC card will be £75.
String Courses
There will be free string and off string courses available each day.
If your child wishes to participate in the String Course, please register your child via SI Entries. It is free to do so, and there is no obligation to participate. Registration need only be done once for the full week. If your child is already participating in a colour coded or age class course, there is no need to separately register them for the String Course.
Parking
Parking at the events is also included in the entry fee. This year, because of problems with COVID we will not be running any event busses.

Cancellation Policy
Although we are confident that the event will go ahead, we recognise that there is still a possibility that the Covid situation will not have improved sufficiently to allow us to proceed as planned. If we have to cancel the Lochaber 2021 event, competitors are entitled to a full refund of the entry fee (less the SiEntries Booking Fee).
There will be no refund for any merchandise purchased (such merchandise will still be delivered to the competitor). The Scottish6Days take no responsibility for the costs of accommodation or travel booked.
If you wish to cancel your entry, you may do so in accordance with the terms on the Scottish6Days website.
Insurance
You may wish to take out your own insurance to cover any costs incurred as a result of cancellation including travel or accommodation costs.
