Info: New entries for this event closed on Thursday 9th June 2022.
20k Yomp | £20.00 | |
10k Yomp | £10.00 |
The 20k Yomp takes a slightly different route to previous years with the new circuit eliminating a horribly boggy section and adding an extra peak – High Pike. The minimum age is 11, anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied. Includes 2,200 ft of ascent.
As this will be the first time this 20k course has been run, the winner will be the course record holder.
There will be prizes of £75 each for the first man and woman, and £50 each for second places (prizes donated by Lyon Equipment / La Sportiva).
The route starts and finishes at Kirkby Stephen Grammar School. The route heads south out of the town and past Wharton Hall. It then climbs to the top of High Pike before dropping down to the Swaledale road at Tailbridge. The final stage ascends to the Nine Standards, then back down to Kirkby Stephen.
The 10k Yomp route remains the same as previous years. This is a great route for all, including children of 5 and over walking with their parents or teachers. Includes 550 ft of ascent to reach the Nine Standards.
Following registration at Kirkby Stephen Grammar School, the 10k Yomp starts at Tailbridge. Transport to the start is provided courtesy of Cumbria Classic Coaches.
Landowners have given permission for the Yomp routes to cross their land on the day of the event only. This restricted permission in no way constitutes agreement to any right of way.
All finishers, regardless of course, receive a certificate and medal.
Registrations are between 8.30 am and 12 noon depending on the course. Full details are provided upon booking.
