Thank you for entering the 2025 Glen Rosa Horseshoe race.
It's incredible to see the race sell out so fast and we are very excited to bring back an old local classic.
Please find below details of the race route and grid references for race check points which must all be visited and reached within the cut off times provided.
Arran Mountain Rescue will be on the hill providing safety cover and will be ticking off runners race numbers at each check point. All race numbers must be worn visible to the front please.
Any runners arriving at check points after cut off times will be retired by the marshals and must return directly to the start via the route stated by the marshals.
As always, if retiring from the race at any point, please inform the nearest marshal on the hill or report at the finish. This is imperative to ensure runners safety.
The race is licensed and insured through SHR so please have a look at their rules before running - https://www.scottishhillrunners.uk/Safety.aspx
Arran MRT have asked if runners can carry a fully charged mobile phone just incase anyone needs to be located quickly.
The only section of the race that is flagged will be the descent from Beinn a' Chliabhain down into Core Daingean and runners must follow the flags as per NTS permissions as other routes are eroded and we have been asked to make sure all runners follow this instruction please.
The route up onto the Beinn a 'Chliabhain ridge to the summit is now a little further North up the Glen and runners can pick their line up after going through the deer exclosure but there is no route allowed up the flanks before hand. This is due to tree planting and the new electric deer fence.
Check in/kit check at the Rangers centre( 015380) 10.00 - 11.30am
