Dovedale Dash

I accept the following terms for my own entry. I also accept the terms on behalf of any other participants I am entering in this event including any participants under 18 for whom I am the parent or guardian, all of whom have been provided with a copy of these terms and accept them:

I declare that the information on this form is complete and correct. I confirm that I am aware of the Organiser’s information and requirements in connection with this race (see www.dovedaledash.co.uk). I confirm that I am suitably physically fit for the event. I accept the hazards involved in cross country running and acknowledge that I am entering and running this race at my own risk. Other than the Organiser’s liability for causing death or personal injury by negligence, I confirm that I understand that the Organiser accepts no liability to me for any loss or damage of any nature to me or my property arising out of my participation in this race. 

Weather conditions/postponements/entry fees: In the past we have had to cancel the Dash as our car park, Thorpe Pastures (the only car park able to take this many cars in the area), was waterlogged. In this case or in case of other weather related reasons to cancel or special circumstances like Covid, we will let you know by email that the race is cancelled and will also publish this on the website and social media. We assess the situation with the car park 1 week before the race with the ranger of the National Trust. In case we have to cancel the race, we will automatically postpone your entry to next year’s race. If you cannot make this date, we will provide you with the option to donate your entry fee minus the SiEntries admin fee to our local charities or to opt for a refund minus the SiEntries admin fee. 

Cancellations or transfers for injuries or other reasons: We don’t provide refunds and cancellations for any circumstances. Given the number of runners in this event and this event being fully run by local volunteers, we are not able to do the admin to allow refunds or postpone entries to next year other than for a race cancellation because of weather. Please do not email us to request a refund. 

There are prizes for 1st and 2nd man, 1st and 2nd lady, 1st under 14 boy and girl, 1st under 18 boy and girl, 1st over 60 man and lady, 1st local Thorpe man, 1st local Thorpe lady. The winners of the Dovedale Dash get trophies to take home. It is very important to return those trophies to is before the first of September. 

Fancy dress is allowed and encouraged, but please make sure it is safe. We do have water available at the finish, but please bring your own cup. Dogs have always run in the dash, but you have to start at the back and will be held back for 1 min before your are allowed to start (sorry no time adjustment possible). Please be careful not to trip up any runners, specially downhill from the start. One dog per runner max and you are responsible for your dog. Please do not run in shoes with spikes. Children 12 years and older are allowed in the main race, but parents are responsible. Please use your judgement and make sure they are accompanied if you believe necessary. Please make sure they start at the back. For their safety Children should NOT start at the front. 

By taking part in the Dovedale Dash you consent to being photographed and recorded. Any media material can be used for marketing purposes. If you make any photographs or videos, please send them to us or post them on our social media
