I accept the following terms for my entry. 

I declare that the information on this form is complete and correct. I understand and agree that I participate in this event at my own risk. 

I agree that no liability shall be attached to the activity provider, staff or helpers in respect of any injury, loss or damage suffered by me on or by reason of the event, however caused.  

First Light Adventure endeavour to provide a safe activity in the practical outdoor setting. Operating procedures have been adapted to keep in line with Government and EA guidelines. To prevent overcrowding this event is limited to 150 participants. Further details relating to the above will be included on the website.  

Race Rules

  1. Participants have 6  hours to complete The Cordwell Colossus. You must pass through all checkpoints within the stated time limit. (Miss a CP = DNF)
  2. Any runner who is, in the opinion of the race directors or marshals, unfit to continue will be withdrawn from the race. THEIR DECISION IS FINAL.  
  3. Kit check, you will carry the mandatory kit at all times during the race (see below)
  4. You must log in with the marshals at each checkpoint. 
  5. You must notify a marshal at the first instance if you decide to retire from the event. Once you retire from the event, your race number must be surrendered and you will not be allowed to continue.
  6. Do not drop any litter. 
  7. Respect other users of the countryside, fellow competitors and marshals. 
  8. No climbing over fences / walls, please use the stiles/gates. 
  9. No dogs allowed (the route makes use of farmland with grazing animals). 
  10. Runners must be aged 18 or over on race day  

Mandatory kit:

  1. This is a summer trail event - All entrants are advised to wear appropriate clothing for the conditions including cap and sunscreen.
  2. Waterproof Jacket with taped seams.
  3. Trail shoes (if there is a prolonged dry spell beforehand then road shoes will be acceptable - this will be communicated beforehand)
  4. 500ml of water / energy drink as a minimum. This will be increased to 1 litre if conditions on the day dictate.
  5. Sufficient nutrition for a day on the trail.
  6. Whistle.
  7. Mobile phone with race director’s number (07741 488737) in contacts.
  8. Route notes and / or GPX file on a device which will last the distance (GPX file available from https://firstlightadventure.co.uk/).
  9. Drinking cup or bottle  (No plastic cups provided at checkpoints)

Refunds / Transfers

Refunds less booking fee will be permissible up until 1st July 2025.  Substitutions - we will allow you to transfer your entry to another runner right up until the race closes (4th August 2025) BUT you must fully update the entry details on SiEntries and inform the Race Director via email.

By way of offering further reassurance to clients, if the event is unable to go ahead for any reason you will be able to  get a full refund.
