Gatliff Marathon

I accept the following terms for my own entry. I also accept the terms on behalf of any other participants I am entering in this event, all of whom have been provided with a copy of these terms and accept them. If I am under eighteen years of age, I confirm I am entering with and will be accompanied by a responsible person over eighteen.

I declare that the information on this form is complete and correct. I understand and agree that I participate in this event at my own risk and that I must rely on my own ability in dealing with all hazards.

I am aware that there are marshalled checkpoints where my progress is monitored, refreshments are offered and there is a first aid kit.  If I arrive before the given opening time of a checkpoint, I understand that the expected facilities might not be available.  If I have arrived at a time that the marshals consider too late to continue the route, or I feel it necessary to retire, transport back to Edenbridge Cricket Club can be arranged. (If retiring, I should do so at a checkpoint if possible. Otherwise I should phone one of the emergency contact numbers on the route directions.)  

Detailed route instructions are issued, but maps are advisable. OS 187 and 188 Landranger and OS Explorer 146 and 147 maps cover the area. As grid references are quoted at each paragraph, note that maps could possibly enable lost persons to get back onto the route! A GPX file will also be provided. It is essential to carry plenty of fluid to avoid dehydration and to wear footwear suitable for off-road running or walking.A compass, map case, appropriate clothing, waterproofs and some high energy food are recommended, plus a torch for all participants doing the 50km.  We also suggest carrying a small first aid kit, containing at least antiseptic wipes and plasters, and any additional items that you personally might choose.

Dogs are allowed and we request that they are leashed during our event.  However, we are unable to allow dogs into the indoor checkpoints or the cricket club.

I agree that no liability whatsoever shall be attached to the promoter, promoting club or member of the promoting club in respect of any injury, loss or damage suffered by me on or by reason of the event, however caused.

I consent to publication of my name, club, distance entered, entry number, finishing time and position, in the event's pre-entry and results lists.
